Geopathic (from the ground) Radiation is the result of secondary radiations resulting from the reflection of cosmic, solar and man-made EMF radiations ricocheting upward from soil that contains a high content of clay and water. The most powerful geopathic fields are usually generated by underground rivers and overhead powerlines that create powerful disruptions in the life fields of plants and animals.

In the "Electromagnetic Man," Cyril Smith stated, "The Chinese have a concept -- Feng-shui (Graves, 978) by which the 'living energy' of an area, 'chi'i', needs to be able to propagate along clearly discernible pathways, else it stagnates and becomes the noxious 'sha.' These pathways can be interfered with and blocked by the activities of man. Last century, the Chinese were continually concerned by the Westerner's development of railway and telegraph lines upsetting the local resident' Feng-shui. It is possible that the 'living energies' and  'earth fields' correspond in some part to electromagnetic energy of an extremely high coherence. This can produced effects quite different from the usual energy concepts based on random, disordered energies, such as heat and light.

Graves maintains that pylon lines split the energy-flow, allowing part of it to continue on its way, but sending the remainder down the pylon line itself. The proportions 'stolen' by the pylons vary enormously, for no known reason. At each bend in the line of cables, some of the energy that originally ran down the pylons 'spins off', effectively forming a new low-powered current overground. The result is that in some areas...the web of pylon lines large and small, produces large numbers of 'unofficial' overgrounds, allowing energy of the wrong kind to arrive at the wrong place at the wrong time and probably the wrong direction. The result, in other words, is not just a mess, it's absolute chaos. In some cases and areas it may be possible to divert the major overgrounds upwards so they are above the powerlines; but in others, the dowsers I talked to felt that the only satisfactory solution would be to put all the electrical power cables underground. Even given the enormous cost of doing so, they reckoned that it would still be worthwhile in every sense to do so, because of the pylon's hidden effects on the health and fertility of the land.

Aschoff (1986) has shown correlations between disease locations and physically measurable parameters such as magnetic fields, air ionization, and ionizing radiation particle counts. He proposed that some geopathic zones may correspond to geological faults in the Earth's crust, leading to an increased neutron flux emerging from the core and, if the faults have filled with water, giving a localized enhancement of highly interactive slow neutrons. A neutron decays into a proton and electron, and in the process magnetic flux quantization must be conserved. A recent translation of a 1932 book by von Pohl, of which an English translation by Lang appeared in 1987, documents his substantial research linking geopathic stress to cancer development and many other diseases." page 244-255
